Lee had a great year last season. I was happy and surprised how well he skated and played. Hopefully 🤞 he can repeat that performance this year. There are articles circulating about what the Islanders should do with the Captain. JG and Lee have zero futures with this team, that is the honest truth. Both guys are excellent people and serviceable players. However this is there last year on the Island, so they either help on a playoff run and leave as an UFA or get traded in season. The next three years a lot of vets will be switched out. Young talent is coming and soon.

Don’t know everything around Cal Foote. After him

being cleared on all charges in the Canadian Hockey scandal, if I was the Islanders I would 💯 explore his availability. He is a good RHD. Carter Hart most likely will restore his career in Philly.

Tsyplakov signed! Honestly he suffered from DuClair Engvall contract syndrome. Tsyplakov is going to be a fantastic player this year. He really looked good at times, I think he becomes more consistent this year. Hopefully he can ease the transition for Shabonov. Possibly play on the same line.

Let the Best performers determine who makes the team. Same with the Lines!

The last few years the team had no internal competition. This year it’s off the hook. We could have a Bridgeport Line of Engvall Mac DuClair. All three have no business on the Islanders! Fight for your spot nothing should be given under Darche!

DuClair like Engvall feels all wrong for the Islanders! I don’t know how they rid themselves of these two. Let’s hope for a Miracle!

The other question about Shabanov is whether he will stay in the NHL or go back to Russia if he has to start in the bottom 6 or is scratched a few times. It’s happened before.
