Anthony Duclair Has Everything To Prove To Islanders This Fall
Anthony Duclair returns to the New York Islanders after injury and uncertainty, but with added roster depth, he faces stiff competition to reclaim a top-six role.
A torn groin, an underwhelming comeback, and public criticism from head coach Patrick Roy best sum up Anthony Duclair’s first season of a four-year deal worth $3.5 million annually.
But he will be returning this fall, via his interview on The BigCeas Show:
"The Islanders right now are my team. I love them. I love playing for them. I love the fans [...] I'm looking forward to a great season & I'm looking forward to bouncing back."
When Duclair signed his deal with the Islanders last July, there was a clean lane to a top-six role.
But now, as we gear up for training camp, which begins in a little over a month, that lane has more obstacles — a positive for the Islanders in terms of competition, but certainly means a lot more for No. 11 to prove.
