ELMONT, NY — There were plenty of questions — and very few answers — surrounding what kind of impact Anthony Duclair would have on the New York Islanders’ 2025–26 season after what transpired in early April.

Duclair, 30, elected to take a leave of absence from the team with eight games remaining, following Patrick Roy’s public criticism after an April 1 loss to the Montreal Canadiens. At the time, uncertainty hovered over both his future with the Islanders and his ability to return to form.
