Islanders Announce Duclair Timeline, What's Likely To Happen Next
EAST MEADOW, NY -- The New York Islanders announced during Monday's practice that forward Anthony Duclair will be out four-to-six weeks with a lower-body injury.
The 29-year-old suffered a non-contact injury at the 3:19 mark of their 4-3 shooting win against the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night.
"When you see a guy on the ice having to get helped off, you never know these days the severity," Islanders defenseman Noah Dobson said.

Islanders Roy Explains Exactly Why He Has Barzal & Horvat On Separate Power Plays
EAST MEADOW, NY -- When New York Islanders head coach Patrick Roy separated Mathew Barzal and Bo Horvat on the power play, everyone was up in arms.
How could Roy do such a thing?
Yes, it wasn't like the power play was clicking prior to Tuesday's changes, now a mere 2-for-19 with the man advantage.
But it seemed like an odd choice.
With Roy, there's a reason for everything, and he has no problem explaining exactly why he makes his changes.
And why he is separating his top duo makes complete sense.

Interview With Liam Foudy
After Julien Gauthier struggled in the Islanders’ 4-3 shootout loss to the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night, the team decided to waive the speedster.
When Gauthier passed through waivers on Monday at 2 PM, they recalled fellow speedster Liam Foudy, who the Islanders signed to a one-year deal this summer.
The former 18th overall pick by the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2018 had four assists in five games with Bridgeport before the recall.
On Tuesday, in the Islanders’ 1-0 shutout loss to the Detroit Red Wings, Foudy played 7:52 minutes, skating alongside Kyle MacLean and Oliver Wahlstrom.
For tonight’s game against the New Jersey Devils, he’ll skate with MacLean and Casey Cizikas.
I caught up with Foudy, who is donning No. 12, by the way, following Thursday’s skate to get his thoughts on a few things:
Q: “Your thing is speed. We've talked about it. You are now on a line with MacLean and Cizikas. That's just raw speed. How important is it for you guys to just play a simple north-south game?
A: “Yeah, usually when you can have one guy who can fly around and create havoc, it helps the other guys. But when three of us can move like we can, and one guy can get in there, and you can have that second-quick even faster than normal, and you're having to play using your speed, I think that'll benefit us a lot. Hopefully, it gels as well. “
*Second quick means second guy supporting.
Q: I know you’ve played over 100 NHL games. What was the experience like playing in your first Islanders game?
A: “Yeah, it was a blast. It was a long road, after a lot of injuries last year, to get an opportunity to play in this league again, like everybody wants to. So, I was proud of myself for the work I put in to get an opportunity like that, and hopefully, I can make the best of it.”
Q: What was Roy’s message to you after the game?
A: It was just one quick chat. I think they knew I would have some nerves. Itt was my first game in a while. I was just trying to get my feet under me. The biggest thing they kept saying was that as long as I moved my feet, better things would happen. So, I always just try to move as much as I can out there.”
