Plus all the Blue Chip Prospects flowing in like Eiserman, EKlund, and possibly Aitcheson if they eliminate a college season as a possibility for him. Other key depth players are developing down there under Rocky. Talk about a drastic turnaround!!!!! Well Done 👍
Horvat has a championship drive also. He works with Adam Oates during the Summer to constantly improve. He is never content, he is always looking for another gear. The defensive commitment and strong goaltending showcased in the CBJ and Dallas games are the blueprint for the last nine. It’s “Barry Trotz Defensive All Out Effort” that this team always needs to turn to when in a jam. Patty knows the lack of firepower and speed throughout the entire team dictates tight Defense and Great Goaltending as the ticket 🎟️ to the playoffs. There can’t be anymore let downs or loose D efforts. It’s a grind playing super competitive defensive hockey 🥅, but they are capable. It’s hard to say what they need to make the playoffs, but minimum 7-2 most likely ?????? That’s 101 points, the century mark might be the cutoff line this year. Panthers tomorrow at home, Islanders have to play a disciplined low event game and lull the Panthers into Golf Season. Monday is essentially a Game 7 against the Penguins 🐧. The Islanders still struggle establishing Home Ice Advantage! Here we are again, the fans are doing their part it’s up to the Islanders to Feed The Fire 🔥! UBS can have a rowdy intimidating atmosphere if the combination of “Quality of on Ice Performance” lights the ravenous fanbase. The organization is developing The Park and everything around the Arena as a first class experience. It’s unrealistic to win every game at home, but you shouldn’t be dropping eggs 🥚 like the Blackhawks! It’s demoralizing and frustrating to the fan base, and contrary to establishing that hostile and winning atmosphere at UBS. Two wins over the next two goes a long way to stoking that UBS FIRE 🔥! More speed and tenacity is on its way to this team next year. This year we must fight with an Alamo Type Attitude every game! I certainly think everyone in the organization is hoping for a strong finish and a competitive run in the playoffs. Darche and Patrick know it’s essential to make the playoffs this year as we start to filter in the young talent next year. I would like to see George incorporated into the lineup down the stretch. He isn’t a rookie so to speak and can really help raise the talent level of the D-Core. If Romanov does make it back for the Playoffs that’s a huge boost also. No doubt losing Romanov and Palmeri for the season hurt this team. Palmeri always gives you clutch scoring, and the Islanders have been unable to really replace his normal contributions upfront. Wouldn’t be opposed to bringing up Liam Foudy, he has played well in Bridgeport and has experience and speed and play him somewhere in the lineup.
