SEATTLE — For youngsters like Calum Ritchie, this seven-game, two-week-plus road trip has been a new experience.

Ritchie recorded four assists over these seven games, with an assist in each of the last four games of the trip. Three of his assists came on the power play, feeding Duclair in the bumper from below the left dot, like clockwork.

“He’s moving the puck very well,” head coach Patrick Roy said back on Wednesday morning. “I will say this. I was watching his game, and offensively, he’s been really good. I mean, he’s holding on to pucks, protecting his puck very well, making really nice plays. It’s nice to watch.”

While all the players are ready to come home, the now 21-year-old — he turned 21 yesterday — is ecstatic to get back to Long Island, as he just signed a lease on an apartment.

Since being recalled on Halloween, Ritchie has been living in a hotel. He got offers to live with vets, but, with his spot on the team not 100% cemented earlier, and given that he had lived the billet life in juniors, he opted to remain in the team hotel until he could find a place.

He finally got that apartment, and he’s ecstatic.

We talked about the big move, the road trip, team bonding, and more!
