EAST MEADOW, NY — Matthew Schaefer’s second season with the New York Islanders is going to look a bit different than his first.

There will be a full season with Pete DeBoer behind the bench after he took over with four games remaining last season, while Anders Lee, the only captain Schaefer has known at the NHL level, is now in Utah.

But while there’s been change around Schaefer and the Islanders this summer, the internal expectations certainly haven’t changed.
