Tonight, the New York Islanders will play the Anaheim Ducks, who have a few familiar faces: Ross Johnston, Ryan Strome, Brent Thompson (assistant coach), and Greg Cronin (head coach).
The Ducks, who may be rocking the coolest jerseys in the NHL, are 3-4-1 on the season.
They lost a tight one to the New York Rangers 2-1 on Saturday before getting blown out 6-2 by the New Jersey Devils on Sunday.
The Islanders have a huge chance to rebound from their blown 3-0 lead on Saturday.
They allowed six unanswered goals in a 6-3 loss to the defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers.
After the Ducks, the Islanders play the Columbus Blue Jackets (4-3-1) and then the Buffalo Sabres (4-5-1).
It’s a week, that if the Islanders can take advantage, can put them back toward the top of the Metro, writing their wrongs so far this season.
Before we get to our chat with Hudson Fasching, here’s the latest news from what was a busy Monday.

Inside The Numbers: Islanders Blowing Leads Is A Problem That Patrick Roy Hasn't Solved Yet
This past Friday and Saturday, the New York Islanders split their first back-to-back of the season, beating the New Jersey Devils 4-3 in overtime before losing 6-3 to the defending Stanley Cup Florida Panthers on Saturday.
While the results were different, there was a commonality…blowing leads.
Against New Jersey, the Islander failed to hold onto their slim 3-2 lead, allowing a Jesper Bratt tying goal with 1:29 to play in regulation before Bo Horvat scored the game-winner in overtime.
Saturday was the second time this season the Islanders led but lost, and the fourth time in eight games where they lost a lead.
the Islanders have had 10 leads this season and have failed to hold those leads nine times.

Hudson Fasching Discusses Injuries & Demotion
Once Anthony Duclair landed on Long-Term Injured Reserve, the Islanders made a few roster moves, one of which was recalling forward Hudson Fasching.
After being a staple once called up during the 2022-23 season, earning a two-year extension, Fasching struggled to stay healthy in 2023-24.
Then, this time around, an injury during training camp forced him to miss some time before he was placed on waivers. He began the season with Bridgeport of the American Hockey League.
In five games with Bridgeport, Fasching had a goal and an assist.
After he skated on the fourth line with Kyle MacLean and Pierre Engvall, we could tell he would be making his season debut against the Anaheim Ducks.
Following practice, we caught up with No. 20 to get his thoughts on the injury, which we learned were injuries, plural, his demotion, and more.
Enjoy!
