Incredible Three Day Ken Morrow & Allan Kreda Book Launch Wraps At NHL Store
Ken Morrow & Allan Kreda's Ken Morrow: Miracle Gold, Four Stanley Cups, and a Lifetime of Islanders Hockey hit shelves this week.

What happens when two mild-mannered, modest and super-skilled people like Allan Kreda and Ken Morrow come together on a project?
They create a masterpiece -- not in the Shakespeare sense, but to the hockey fan, particularly an Islander fan, Ken Morrow: Miracle Gold, Four Stanley Cups, and a Lifetime of Islanders Hockey is essential reading.
Most know Ken Morrow’s unique and miraculous story of his 1980 gold medal win, then immediately joining the Isles dynasty for four straight Stanley Cups. But Kreda, a New York hockey writing veteran, artfully helps tell Morrow’s story in a colorful chronological fashion, making it an easy read, with never-heard-before insights.
And according to Morrow, this project would never have happened if it wasn’t for Kreda.
“Well, he's the reason the book got written truthfully. And what I found out is that he knows a lot more about hockey than I do!” Morrow continued. “You know his grasp of the history of that era when I played, and then the context that he's had through hockey throughout his career, he really added a special element to the book.”
While most of the book is obviously Morrow’s voice and story, the tall, bearded legendary defenceman credited Kreda with skillfully enhancing the book by going the extra mile.
“You know, he was able to capture a lot of voices of former teammates and guys I played against, and coaches and family members to the Brooks family and so he added so much to the book that never would have been there without him.”
Kreda, who has written for The Hockey News, the New York Times, and the Associated Press, among other outlets, is one of the best writers in the country and deserves tremendous credit for his longevity in the field.
Morrow, who the Islanders drafted in the fourth round (No. 68) of the 1976 NHL Draft, won Olympic gold in 1980 before joining his NHL squad to help them win the 1980 Stanley Cup.
He was the first and is the only player to win an Olympic gold and a Stanley Cup in the same season.
