When the New York Islanders hired Lou Lamoriello as their general manager and team president in 2018, it brought stability to a franchise that desperately needed it.

Toward the end of his tenure, however, that stability began to be questioned. The roster appeared stale, and the organization’s consistently low-ranked prospect pool raised serious concerns about the future.
