Islanders Can’t Afford Points Left On The Table
The Islanders’ slow starts and missed chances are turning wins into losses — and points into problems.
ELMONT, NY — It’s the NHL. It’s a league where there’s so much parity that on any given night, either team can come away victorious, regardless of record. Leads are being erased like clockwork.
But the good teams find a way to weather storms and come out on the other side with two points more often than not, regardless of the circumstances.
For the New York Islanders, their 4-3 shootout loss to the Boston Bruins was another example on a list of instances through the opening five weeks of the season in which points were given away.
