Islanders Face Boston Bruins On Thanksgiving Eve
The Islanders and Bruins have both struggled to score goals this season.

WHO’S HOT:
Isaiah George picked up his first NHL point on Monday, earning the milestone as he continues to be relied upon at the blue line. He clocked 19:34 of ice time in the game, adding to his average of 19:29 per game.
Anders Lee also remains on milestone watch entering Wednesday’s game, needing only one assist to crack 200 for his NHL career. Ryan Pulock also sits two points short of 200 in his career.
Palmieri lit the lamp once again in the Islanders’ last game. He has three red lights in his last two games. He now sits two points short of 500 for his NHL career, boasting 256 goals and 242 assists for 498 points.
Palmieri’s hat trick in the Islanders’ last meeting with Boston continued his success against them. He has 13 goals against the Bruins to lead active Islanders. Jean-Gabriel Pageau has assists in his last four games against the Bruins, tallying five in that span, to take the lead in assists and points against them with 13 and 25, respectively.
Ilya Sorokin will get the start for the Islanders on Wednesday. He earned his 100th career win on Saturday against the St. Louis Blues with 24 saves in the win. Against Boston, he is 2-2-2 with a 2.40 GAA and .917 SV%, most recently making 22 saves in a winning effort in their last meeting.
OPPONENT’S NOTES:
Boston’s headline free-agent acquisitions were a pair of former Vancouver Canucks. Center Elias Lindholm and defenseman Nikita Zadorov signed long-term deals with the Bruins over the summer.
Charlie McAvoy has been hot against his hometown team as of late. The Boston defenseman has a five-game point streak against the Islanders, tallying a goal and seven assists in that span.
Bruins captain Brad Marchand is the team’s leading scorer against New York. The forward has 15 goals and 26 assists for 41 points in 47 games against them.
After Jeremy Swayman started the front end of Boston’s back-to-back on Tuesday, Joonas Korpisalo will start on Wednesday against New York. Acquired in a trade from the Ottawa Senators, he’s solidified the goalie tandem after the departure of Linus Ullmark, shutting out the Utah Hockey Club in his last outing. Against New York, he is 5-5-3 with a 2.71 GAA and .919 SV%, earning a win with 30 saves on 33 shots as a member of the Senators.
