Islanders Face Canadiens, Patrik Laine To Make Montreal Debut
The Islanders have some game-time decisions tonight.
After getting back on track against the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday, the New York Islanders (9-10-6) visit the Montreal Canadiens (8-13-3) tonight.
Puck drop at the Bell Center is set for 7:00 p.m., and the game can be found on MSGSN.
Jean-Gabriel Pageau returned to practice on Monday after missing the last two games due to a lower-body injury. He is a game-time decision, but so is Casey Cizikas, who missed morning skate as he’s battling an illness.
The New York Post’s Ethan Sears joined Stefen Rosner this morning to discuss the latest following morning skate.

The Islanders defeated the Canadiens 4-3 in a shootout in their first meeting. New York jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period on goals from Bo Horvat and Kyle Palmieri, but Cole Caufield and Logan Mailloux lit the lamp to tie it early in the second.
The game remained tied for most of regulation before Anders Lee put the Islanders ahead late in the third. However, the lead was short-lived, as Caufield’s second of the game forced overtime and, eventually, a shootout.
Palmieri and Simon Holmstrom scored in the skills contest for the Islanders, with Oliver Kapanen and Emil Heineman answering for the Canadiens. In the ninth round, Noah Dobson scored the goal that put New York over the top.
