The stench coming out of Bridgeport isn’t a good look on Lou. A lot of things have to factor in at this trade deadline. Unfortunately unless there is a big deal out there Lou might stand pat again. It looks like other teams know Nelson isn’t going to be moved. If you don’t move Nelson why bother on Palms. Talking about doubling down! Even if they miraculously rally and do the impossible and make the playoffs, where are we going? Plus the disaster in Bridgeport things look bleak. Sure we have a couple of very good prospects in Eiserman and Danny Nelson, but how close are they ?

Only other possible big trade is with Jordan Kyrou and the Blues. Which might be expanded out. I think those are the only two things Lou is looking at.

If they wanted to sneak in this year with 23 games remaining. They would have to win 17 of those games. Thats an almost impossible task 17-6 Finish. That would put them 12 games over .500. and more than likely in the Playoffs. The only way this is possible is with Petterson move. Petterson at 26 is young and signed long term so if he is healthy it’s a move for now and in the future. Lou gets into the dance by a point on the last day of the season again lol ! The task gets infinitely easier with a long winning streak starting in Boston a eight ten game one. Incorporating Petterson wouldn’t be hard because of the relationship with Horvat. If Lou pulls both the trade and playoff he keeps his job. Don’t count him out, gotta admire those stones if that’s the way it plays out. Big parlay lol !

Islanders aren’t making smaller type moves. They are Big Game hunting with Petterson. Does it get done or does Vancouver get cold feet. Lou is gambling with a lot of chips on the table. Honestly I don’t mind this approach. The problem is if you come up short. Petterson performance and attitude has to be a major concern at 11 plus AAV. I would think the best deal has to be before his NTC kicks in, and he is still living off his Reputation. Lou is gambling but he has insider knowledge from Horvat. If Petterson is okay physically you go get him! Place him on a line with Horvat and Barzel, that should finally solve the PP dilemma. Holmstrom Nelson Plameri is a great 2nd Line. Could this season and future seasons be more successful if they can swing this deal, absolutely!

Brock Nelson not going anywhere the Wild’s trade confirms that. Lou has got Nelly signed, you won’t hear that until after Trade Deadline. Honestly I don’t have a problem with 7x3, simply because of his exceptional physical conditioning and play style.

Vancouver is in a crazy situation. I don’t blame them for not committing long term to Brock Boeser. Average Career Production at best and an injury liability. Do they head into a retool and move him, I believe they do. If that’s the case why not trade Petterson for assets also. The Islanders are a viable option for Vancouver if they want to move Petterson. Dobson would be the centerpiece on that deal. It most likely would be expanded to include a few more players on both sides. Dobson RHD,Danny Nelson C, and a future second round pick for Petterson and Tom Willander RHD. Willander is at BU very good Defenseman with very good point production. Vancouver might want to open up salary cap room and pick up young talent on Boeser and Petterson trade. This situation with Petterson is not going away, dude doesn’t want to be there. Only question for Islanders is Petterson healthy? If there is a viable reason to think he is not healthy, then you do nothing. Having a healthy rejuvenated Petterson changes the Islanders for the better 5 on 5 but even more on the PP.

Two more games until trade deadline. Very strange move by Rangers, trading Lingren???? What message does that send the team? Winnipeg Tuesday who’s in goal on a back to back. That’s a tough spot right there.

I’ve seen enough of Engvall send him down to Bridgeport. No one will touch him on waivers, if they do it would be a miracle. Rather bring Foudy up as an extra forward. Let Engvall get use to riding that Bus around the AHL, because he’ll be doing it for 6 years. There is no way he doesn’t go back to Europe sometime during that contract.
