Against the Dallas Stars, a game in which the New York Islanders played pretty solid defense, failed coverage allowed for the game’s opening goal.
After the Islanders’ top line had a glorious chance to score first, with Mathew Barzal finding Anthony Duclair at the back post only for the puck to roll off his tape, Dallas came back the other way off the rush, with Tyler Seguin burying a slot feed from Mason Marchment over the glove of Semyon Varlamov:
