I would be shocked if Eklund isn’t on the third line with JGP out of Camp. Kid showed out at every level he played on last year. Size is not a factor with this kid he has a heart of a Loin!
I read that eyes on the isles article just now. What exactly is an insurmountable impact? Despite the insult to decent writing, I’d assume it is some sort of praise? The thing is that I watched him play and his defense was subpar for a second line center. At this stage he’s best suited to wing.
The true test of the deal will be the return the Isles get if they flip him.

Team defense was subpar pretty much top to bottom. It was a different take on the Schenn trade. He has played on some very inconsistent Blues teams. At the very least he brings the kinda grit we haven’t had and Cup Pedigree. If he is flipped it would mean we had another bad season. I hope that’s not the case.
All positive news 📰 Going into Camp. I’m super positive on this year’s team. Dache left the door open for the young prospects. The team will change during the season for various reasons. The pressure from the AHL Hammers will help the Big Club. Don’t understand any negativity on Darche. The Schenn trade caused a lot of issues with some of the fan base. If he has two productive years and changes the locker room for the better I got zero problems with it. He is a Cup Champion that still has rubber on his tire 🛞!

We lost Lee but I think Darche knew that going into the Schenn deal. One for one.
