Islanders Play Final Game At Home Before Four Nations Break Against Golden Knights: Lines & Notes
The Islanders have three games left before the Four Nations Face-Off.
ELMONT, NY —With their season-long winning streak snapped at seven games, New York Islanders (24-21-7) enter the final week before the Four Nations Faceoff against the Vegas Golden Knights (31-16-6).
Puck drop at UBS Arena is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., and the game can be found on MSGSN.
Adam Boqvist, claimed off waivers last Friday, is making his first appearance in front of the Islanders’ faithful.
New York blanked Vegas 4-0 in their first meeting at T-Mobile Arena on Jan. 9. Four different Islanders lit the lamp in the win, with Ilya Sorokin making 30 saves in his clean sheet.
LINEUP UPDATES:
The bad news on the injury front continued on Monday for New York, as forward Mathew Barzal and defenseman Scott Mayfield will miss time with lower-body injuries. Barzal will be out indefinitely, while Mayfield is day-to-day.

Maxim Tsyplakov has three assists in as many games after going scoreless in his first game since his suspension. Adam Pelech also continues to rack up helpers, he has six over his last eight games.
Brock Nelson had a goal and assists the last time the Islanders faced the Golden Knights, where he also snapped his offensive drought. Including that performance, he has five goals and six assists for 11 points in his last 12 games
Horvat also had a goal the last time the two teams met. The former Vancouver Canuck leads active Islanders in scoring against Vegas with 11 goals and five assists for 16 points. The five helpers are tied with Lee for the team lead in the category.
After his shutout the last time they met, Sorokin will once again face the Golden Knights on Tuesday. In six career matchups, he is 2-2-1 with a 2.14 GAA and .933 SV%.
Opponents Notes:
Jack Eichel had both goals for Vegas in their loss to the New York Rangers on Sunday. He leads the Golden Knights offensively across the board, boasting 18 goals and 48 assists for 66 points.
Pavel Dorofeyev enters Tuesday’s game on a three-game point streak, boasting a goal and three assists for four points in that span. The fourth-year forward is enjoying a breakout year for the Golden Knights, posting 22 goals and 13 assists for 35 points in in 53 games.
Vegas made an addition to their roster over the weekend, signing forward Brandon Saad to a one-year contract for the remainder of the season following his buyout from the St. Louis Blues. He faced the Islanders twice this season with St. Louis, going scoreless in both games.
Victor Olofsson, a longtime Buffalo Sabre, leads active Golden Knights in goals against New York with seven. Eichel leads the team in assists and points against the Islanders with 12 and 17, respectively.
After Adin Hill started their first meeting last month, Ilya Samsonov will make the start for Vegas on Tuesday. The netminder took an overtime loss in his last appearance with two goals against on 24 shots.
Against the Islanders, he is 6-5-1 with a 3.31 GAA and .881 SV% in 12 games, most recently allowing three goals on 29 shots in a loss on Feb. 5, 2024 with the Toronto Maple L
