Islanders Preseason Lineup Vs. Flyers & Notes
Maxim Tsyplakov gets a chance in the top-six for the first time.
ELMONT, NY — The New York Islanders host the Philadelphia Flyers for their second to last preseason game.
The Islanders made significant cuts on Saturday. Head coach Patrick Roy wants to use these last two games to ice his NHL roster, and that’s what he’s doing, more or less, tonight.
Maxim Tsyplakov is getting his first chance to play a top-six role as he’ll skate alongside Brock Nelson and Kyle Palmieri.
For more on that, check out this story at The Hockey News.
The big surprise is that Pierre Engvall won’t be in the lineup. It’s not because he’s a minus-5 through three games, but that’s part of it, per Roy.
Ryan Pulock is sick, so he won’t play, with Grant Hutton filling in.
Here’s the lineup:
Duclair-Horvat-Barzal
Tsyplakov-Nelson-Palmieri
Lee-Pageau-Holmstrom
Cizikas-MacLean-Gauthier
Romanov-Dobson
Pelech-Hutton
Reilly-Mayfield
Skarek
Hogberg
