Islanders Prospect Pool Making Natural Progression
The New York Islanders prospect pipeline is surging as Cole Eiserman signs, joining Kashawn Aitcheson in a pivotal week for the organization’s future.
The New York Islanders prospect pool got a jolt this summer with the additions of forward Victor Eklund (2025, No. 16) and defenseman Kashawn Aitcheson (2025, No. 17).
That momentum only picked up this week.
Eklund already signed his three-year entry-level deal back in August, but now Aitcheson put pen to paper on his rookie deal, which will kick in for the 2026-27 season.
Because Eklund didn’t play in 10 or more NHL games, his ELC will slide a year, as his contract went into effect this season.
Then came the biggest development: Cole Eiserman (2024, No. 20) decided to sign his ELC, leaving Boston University after his sophomore season.
Eiserman will join Bridgeport on an Amateur Tryout (ATO), allowing him to play with them for the remainder of their season, including playoffs. Depending on how the Barrie Colts’ season plays out, Aitcheson could follow a similar path and join Bridgeport on an ATO as well.
