After doing what they could to leave their marks during development camp, New York Islanders prospects hit the ice later this morning for the beginning of rookie camp, hoping to show growth.

We do not yet have a roster — we’ll get it when we walk into Northwell Ice Center — but we know that the collegiate prospects and those whose seasons have already begun overseas will not be in attendance.

When it comes to which prospects will make the Islanders’ lineup, only a couple have a serious chance of cracking the roster come opening night: Matthew Schaefer, Maxim Shabanov, Calum Ritchie, and Isaiah George.

But the pressure is still on for the players who don’t ultimately make the club.
