Good morning, and happy Monday!

I have some cool news to share to kick off the day.

I am proud to announce that I am writing national pieces for The Hockey News in addition to covering the New York Islanders.

Check out my three national pieces so far:

Was The Devils And Panthers Duel An NHL Eastern Conference Final Preview?

Ok, back to the Islanders.

After falling 3-2 to the Seattle Kraken on Saturday afternoon, the Islanders snapped a five-game point streak (3-0-2). They're in Calgary, where they’ll face the Flames on Tuesday night. Then, they'll head to Detroit to face the Red Wings on Thursday to conclude a season-long five-game trip.

I think the biggest question for the Islanders is whether Romanov will be able to return before the end of this trip.

We may get updates on him and the rest of the injured parties on Monday, so stay tuned.

Before we get you all caught up with the latest Islanders stories and my interview with Islanders rookie Isaiah George, I want to send a shoutout to Islanders Meetup Calgary and Drive 4 Five.

The two groups, who traveled to Vancouver and Seattle, invited me down to a local bar near Rogers Arena to talk some Isles hockey and hang out.

It was an honor to meet these great fans, and I really appreciate their support!

Islanders 'Got Robbed' After Losing Goalie Interference Challenge; Roy & Players Left Confused

SEATTLE -- While Jamie Oleksiak led the celebration line after his point shot gave the Seattle Kraken a 3-2 lead with 3:13 to play in regulation, the New York Islanders were quick to wave down the officials and get a review.

But after review, the call on the ice stood, and the Islanders left Seattle with a regulation loss, their first in five games:

After the game, Patrick Roy was furious that the challenge did not lead to a call reversal.

"[The explanation] was a funny one. He said it was not enough," Roy said. "He went in by himself. He bumped into our goalie while the puck was coming. And apparently, there's enough and not enough in our league."

UFC Legend & Islanders Fan Wouldn’t Wear Or Promote Rangers Jersey During UFC Fight Week At Madison Square Garden

UFC Champion Chris Weidman was set for a promotion event at Madison Square Garden for a New York Rangers game.

He refused to wear the Rangers jersey.

"When I came out here on Tuesday, the UFC was trying to get me to go to the Rangers game, and they wanted me to wear the Rangers jersey and all that stuff and go on the ice or whatever," Weidman said. "Put me on the jumbotron.”

Weidman is from Baldwin on Long Island and grew up a fan of the New York Islanders. He takes the New York hockey rivalry very seriously and shared that while on the Jake Asman Show.

Islanders Rookie Isaiah George Is Loving The NHL Travel Experience

Since the New York Islanders recalled Isaiah George ahead of their home game against the Pittsburgh Penguins, the 20-year-old has played four of his six NHL games away from UBS Arena.

While traveling to play hockey is nothing new for the rookie, the way in which he travels at the NHL level doesn’t compare to the way he traveled in juniors with the London Knights or in the AHL with the Bridgeport Islanders.

I remember when Aatu Räty was recalled a few years ago; he was like a kid in a candy shop talking about what it was like to be on a team plane.

So, with four road games under George’s belt, I felt it was time to get his thoughts on traveling as an NHLer:
