Today is the day, the start of New York Islanders training camp. The Islanders will have 35 forwards, 18 defenseman, and eight goalies on hand. The roster contains zero surprises:

These players will be broken into three different groups — blue, white, and orange — with media availability for each once they conclude their on-ice portion of the day.

Currently, Anthony Duclair and Semyon Varlamov are the only two players not fully ready for the start of the season. Duclair is expected to hit the ice on day one as he works his way back from his groin tear, which he even said he should not have been playing through. Varlamov, who underwent season-ending lower-body surgery, is skating, but head coach Patrick Roy didn’t know his availability.
