ELMONT, NY — New York Islanders forward Jonathan Drouin has struggled to produce during his first season on Long Island. In 35 games, the 12-year veteran has just three goals and 14 assists for 17 points.

“He’s playing really well 5-on-5, and I just feel like maybe his confidence is not as high offensively,” Islanders head coach Patrick Roy said. “He’s got a lot of looks, and I think it’s just a matter of confidence in his case.”

Following Friday’s practice, I spoke with Drouin about his season thus far.
