Myself and the rest of the New York Islanders beat sat around a conference table awaiting th arrival of general manager Lou Lamoriello ahead of the 2024 Trade Deadline.
The mini-conference came and went, but before Lamoriello left the room, he looked at me and said, “Is this my last game here?”
I had zero clue what he was talking about.
He repeated that statement, and then it dawned on me what he must be referring to.
