Manometric Flames Head To UBS, As Isles Continue Playoff Push
Romanov returns after a two-game absence.
ELMONT, NY — After recovering to defeat the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday, the New York Islanders (32-28-8) host the Calgary Flames (32-25-11) in a vital matinee matchup for both teams.
Puck drop at UBS Arena is scheduled for 4:00, and the game can be found on MSGSN.
The Islanders and Flames first met on Nov. 19, with Calgary picking up a 2-1 shootout win. New York had a 1-0 lead entering the third period, but Rasmus Andersson tied it in the third, and Justin Kirkland won it in the skills contest.
The Islanders will likely get Alexander Romanov back in the lineup after missing the last two games due to illness. Scott Mayfield will come out for him.
Bo Horvat will skate in his 800th NHL game on Saturday. 179 of those games are with the Islanders, recording 63 goals and 68 assists in orange and blue.

Simon Holmstrom has goals in three straight games entering Saturday’s game. It’s the longest goal streak of his NHL career.
Defenseman Noah Dobson has a three-game point streak after recording a pair of helpers against Montreal. The blueliner has two goals and three assists for five points in that span.
With an assist against the Canadiens, Anders Lee became the 13th player to record 500 career points with the franchise. The Islanders’ captain has 285 goals and 215 assists in 827 games.
Horvat, a former Vancouver Canuck, leads the Islanders in scoring across the board against Calgary. In 43 career games, he has 12 goals and 11 assists for 23 points.
Marcus Hogberg will return to the crease for Saturday’s matinee. He last started on March 9 against the Anaheim Ducks, surrendering three goals on 27 shots in a loss. He’s faced the Flames twice in his career, boasting a 1-1-0 record with a 2.02 GAA and .941 SV%, most recently making 40 saves on 42 shots in a win on Jan. 18, 2020.

Jonathan Huberdeau will also reach a personal milestone on Saturday, skating in his 900th NHL game. The forward has recorded 251 goals and 521 assists for 772 points in his career between the Florida Panthers and the Flames, in addition to having his best year in Calgary. He has 26 goals and 26 assists for 52 points this season in 68 games.
Calgary made a handful of roster changes since their last meeting. Most notably, the team acquired Joel Farabee and Morgan Frost from the Philadelphia Flyers in January.
Nazem Kadri has points in four straight games against the Islanders. The forward has a goal and four assists for five points in that span, adding a helper in their last three meetings. He also leads the team in scoring across the board against New York, boasting eight goals and 22 assists for 30 points in 29 games.
Daniel Vladar will be in net for the Flames. He earned the win over the New York Rangers in his last outing on Tuesday, making 12 saves on 13 shots. Saturday’s game marks his first career start against the Islanders.
