BUFFALO, NY — The stars of the show in Buffalo this past week were the prospects taking part in the 2026 NHL Draft Combine.

However, former New York Islanders forward and special assistant to general manager Mathieu Darche, Matt Martin, was a favorite among the prospects who interviewed with Long Island’s organization.



Martin may not have been the flashiest player during his 16-year career, but it’s clear as day, talking to prospects who are under 20, that the now 37-year-old still has street cred.
