EAST MEADOW, NY — New York Islanders franchise defenseman Matthew Schaefer is getting looks on the right side of the blue line during training camp.
When the Islanders battle the Rangers on Tuesday night (losing track of what day of the week it is already) Schaefer will be skating alongside Adam Pelech, after playing most of his minutes in 2025-26 with Ryan Pulock.
The Elmonters sat down with Schaefer to discuss getting reps on the right side, the club’s prospect pool, and what Pelech had to say about playing on your off side.
