There’s a solid chance the New York Islanders general manager Lou Lamoriello will be a seller before March 7th’s NHL trade deadline. We’ve talked a lot about guys like Brock Nelson, Kyle Palmieri, and other players who will probably be on the move because of their positive trade value.

If you ask people which players make up the Islanders’ core, you may get different answers.

While Mathew Barzal, Bo Horvat, and Ilya Sorokin are all signed long-term, is Noah Dobson a lock to be part of this future, along with Alexander Romanov? Or what about Maxim Tsyplakov?

We don’t know as of now. But what we do know is that the Islanders need more from the players signed long-term.
