ELMONT, NY — Overtime used to be a nightmare for this New York Islanders team.

In 2024–25, the Islanders lost nine of the 14 games that were decided in overtime.

After Bo Horvat’s top-shelf tally at the 52-second mark of overtime for a 5-4 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Islanders improved to 6-0-0 in games decided by overtime this season.
