Mike Reilly's Old Coach Paul Maurice On His Resiliency After Heart Procedure

I spoke with Maurice prior to puck drop between the Islanders and the Panthers and asked him about seeing Reilly get back after his heart procedure.

Prior to puck drop against the New York Islanders, I asked Florida Panthers head coach Paul Maurice about Mike Reilly, who was in the starting lineup for the first time since Nov. 1 due to a heart defect.

Maurice knows Reilly, coaching him for a bit after he signed a one-year deal with Florida on July 1, 2023.

Reilly battled for a roster spot but only played in two games before being waived on Nov. 24 and claimed by the Islanders on Nov. 25.

Maurice is a gem and gave a great answer about his former player’s resiliency.
