EAST MEADOW, NY — When New York Islanders general manager Mathieu Darche expressed his hope that Isaiah George could make the team out of training camp, the immediate question became: where would he fit in the lineup?

Because the Islanders appear set on the left side with Matthew Schaefer, Adam Pelech, and Alexander Romanov, the assumption was that George, if he made the roster, could slide over to the right side.

George has previously said that, because of his skating ability, he feels comfortable playing on either side.

However, head coach Pete DeBoer was hesitant when asked about moving George to his off-side and instead pointed to another defenseman as a potential candidate to make that switch.
