The Islanders organization handed Dobson with great care and very well. It’s on the young man to understand the NHL necessities. He is looking bad because of a lack of strength and below average battle. Forwards feel very comfortable around him. Chara obviously told the kid what he would have to deal with, and he hasn’t followed through. There is a reason a guy like Chara was successful, he trained in the weight room. Noah use this time to assess the physical reality of the NHL. Either he is going to get it, or we hitched our wagon to the wrong player. Any trade of Dobson this year is gone, if that was ever their intention.
I don’t see the Islanders winning enough of the next ten games. Most are against good teams. With Noah on the shelf even more challenging. This year there is no miracles, securing the eight spot or backing in to the seventh. The reckoning for this group has come. Maybe it a good thing Dobson is banged up. The kid still has a chance to be great, and I’m sure he knows he has to get stronger and nastier. He has to grow up. Having more team toughness wouldn’t hurt his game. Of course that toughness is young and fast with some skill. Lou should start unloading before this team bottoms out, which they will at some point soon.
If Petterson Deal was being discussed, it’s off related to Noah injury. Lou gets JG Palmeri or Nelson hurt before trading them this entire year is a waste.
That looked ugly dobson. How do I ask a question for this podcast
