What Ross Johnston Meant To The Islanders — And How He’s Thriving With The Ducks
Ross Johnston reflects on becoming an everyday NHL player with the Ducks, while Adam Pelech and Anders Lee share what he meant to the Islanders’ room during his time on Long Island.
ELMONT, NY — Ross Johnston hasn’t been a member of the New York Islanders since the 2022-23 season, but it’s still a pleasure to chat with him every time he’s in town.
During his time with the Islanders (2015-2022), he worked his tail off, believing he could earn a place in an NHL lineup every day. Now, he’s playing every day on a very young and talented Anaheim Ducks team.
I had the chance to speak with Johnston following the Ducks’ morning skate, along with a few Islanders, about what he meant to the room when he was here and how he’s grown as a player.
