At one point, Ryan Pulock was a top-pair, all-situations defenseman for the New York Islanders.

His steady play alongside Adam Pelech was a driving force behind the team’s runs to the Eastern Conference Final in 2020 and 2021.

That performance earned him an eight-year, $6.25 million AAV deal from then-GM Lou Lamoriello ahead of the 2021-22 season, which took effect the following year.

The offensive side of Pulock’s game never fully developed, but the opportunity in front of him in 2025-26 is significant.

It’s his chance to lead the Islanders’ blue line again.
