Islanders Teammates Thrilled To See Varlamov Back On The Ice
Varlamov joined the Islanders at the end of Monday's practice as he continues to work his way back from two knee replacements.
EAST MEADOW, NY — Veteran goaltender Semyon Varlamov rejoined the New York Islanders at the end of Monday’s practice as he continues to work his way back from double-knee replacement.
Varlamov has not played since Nov. 29, 2024, in a 5-4 overtime win over the Washington Capitals. So, it’s been a minute.
Regardless of what the future holds for the 37-year-old, who is in year three of a four-year deal worth $2.75 million annually, seeing him on the ice back with his teammates doing what he loves was an awesome sight.
While I wasn’t able to talk to Varlamov after the practice because he’s currently on LTIR, I was able to talk to a few of his teammates to get their reactions to Varlamov being back on the ice.
