Should Patrick Roy Swap Pierre Engvall & Anthony Duclair?
Should the Islanders try to catch Lightning in a bottle with Pierre Engvall?
New York Islanders head coach Patrick Roy has liked his forward group lately, only making one change with Hudson Fasching being sick.
The fourth line of Maxim Tsyplakov, Kyle MacLean, and Marc Gatcomb has been exceptional, to the point where defenseman Adam Boqvist slotted in on the third line because Roy didn’t want to break that trio up.
Bo Horvat is on an absolute heater, with Kyle Palmieri producing, along with Simon Holmstrom.
While Anders Lee did score in the last game, Lee's line, with Jean-Gabriel Pageau and Anthony Duclair, has struggled to put the puck in the back of the net.
The lack of production doesn’t just fall on one player, but Duclair is struggling again to be visible on a nightly basis.
When you have the speed that he has, at the very least, he needs to be a threat off the rush, and we just haven’t seen that.
But Pierre Engvall has brought that speed to the third line. He is a streaky player who is playing as consistently as we’ve seen from him in an Islanders sweater.
Should Roy try to catch lightning in a bottle and swap Engvall and Duclair for their pivotal matchup against the Vancouver Canucks?
