Simon Holmstrom Is Heating Up — And The Islanders Need Every Bit Of It
Simon Holmstrom is playing with confidence again, stepping up offensively as the Islanders look to solve their ongoing scoring issues.
After setting career highs across the board in 2024–25 with 20 goals and 25 assists for 45 points, New York Islanders forward Simon Holmstrom proved he could produce offensively while still bringing an elite defensive game.
Not only did he earn himself a pay raise by signing a two-year deal worth $3.625 million annually, but I was also told he garnered interest from other teams leading into the 2025 NHL Draft — that’s the effect of a breakout season.
However, when the 2025–26 season began, Holmstrom wasn’t playing the same game he showcased a year ago.
