ISLANDERS NEWS
That Blue and White Scrimmage was fun, great vibe! There’s talent there 💯!
I am always dying to bring up the young prospects, it’s exciting. As I watched the scrimmage you realize let them bloom at lower levels first. Patience is the best approach with these guys. Most need time to fill out and get stronger. Cal Ritchie and Isiah George are the only two I can see playing for the Islanders this year. Schaefer doesn’t need to play in NHL this year. He is just getting back from injury, and would be much better off in college this year. Hopefully with fellow teammates at BU. I know he maybe disappointed by that, but that one healthy developmental year would be fantastic for him and the club. Schaefer seems very bright and I assume everyone involved thinks the college route is the correct one. Eiserman and Eklund are going to be home grown top six talents. Just encouraging seeing the all the talent. Darche is making all the right moves. It would be great if this year’s team overachieves.
