The New York Islanders’ prospects put on a show on the first day of the 2026 World Junior Championship.

First, it was Victor Eklund (2025, No. 16) scoring for Team Sweden in a 3-2 win over Slovakia:

Then it was Cole Eiserman (2024, No. 20) scoring the sixth and final tally for Team USA in a 6-3 win over Germany:

And to close out the night, it was Tomas Poletin (2025, No. 106) potting a pair for Czechia in a 7-5 loss to Kashawn Aitcheson (2025, No. 17) and Team Canada.
