On Monday, the New York Islanders signed 16th overall pick Victor Eklund to his three-year entry-level contract.

Eklund will be returning to Sweden for the 2025-26 season, and since he won’t play in 10 or more NHL games, his ELC will slide, meaning the Islanders aren’t burning a year off his contract.
