Cal Clutterbuck To Be MSG Networks Fixture Throughout Islanders Season
Former Islanders forward Cal Clutterbuck, who announced his retirement from the NHL this summer, will be full-time with MSG Networks this upcoming season.
For years, we have watched Cal Cluttberbuck play on MSG Networks donning the Blue & Orange.
Last season, while contemplating his career, Islanders fans got a taste of the insights that the former Identity Line member brings to the table.
After officially announcing his retirement from hockey earlier this summer, Clutterbuck’s role with MSG Networks will be expanding, The Elmonters has learned.
Clutterbuck will be full-time with MSG Networks for the 2025-26 season.
He showcased a tremendous eye and understanding of the game, two skillsets that allowed him to lace up the skates in the NHL for 1,064 regular-season games over an illustrious 17-year career.
Clutterbuck going full-time doesn’t impact Thomas Hickey’s role with the broadcast.
But, with Hickey holding analyst roles with NHL Network and Amazon’s Monday Night Hockey program, Clutterbuck being on full-time allows him to seamlessly fill whatever role is asked of him, at an elite level.
Former New Jersey Devils goaltender Cory Schneider will not take part in Islanders’ broadcasts as he has taken a full-time role during New Jersey Devils game nights on MSG Networks.
Clutterbuck joins full-timers Brendan Burke, Butch Goring, Shannon Hogan, and Hickey in bringing you the best game-night coverage the NHL has to offer.
The Islanders will play 72 of their 82 games on MSG Networks, which includes opening night against Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins on Oct. 9 before their home-opener on Oct. 11 against Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals.
