Varley’s last few years on the IR stints are super concerning. Love Varley but the availability is critical. Hogberg is fine, he should have gotten a game or two more, but you’re desperate. This story sound familiar!
Even in the locker room the last few years it’s seen as an accomplishment to make the playoffs by a point or two. Somehow that’s validating to them. Then take the Gentlemen’s Sweep from Canes and off to the golf course. If Lou looks as this as a positive it’s only because it keeps him employed. We ain’t chasing Cups or Glory here so what’s the point I ask? We haven’t had a Cup since the early eighties. We are finally blessed with great ownership and a great arena. Be pirates dude don’t play it safe go for the Gold. Winning a Cup immortalizes the entire organization, the goal shouldn’t be making the playoffs. The chase for the Cup is the hardest grind in professional sports. We have the Owners we have the Arena and we have some talent here and on the way. Build this year for a shot at immortality!
I’m sure Patrick knows exactly what time it is and I trust his championship pedigree. He needs to assume GM duties if Lou is hell bent on sailing this ship into an iceberg, because he believes his course is the correct one. Patrick knows the difference between a contender and a pretender, a champions mindset and a guy happy being in the NHL enjoying the lifestyle. He says all the right things and is diplomatic, but you could see it on his face. This team doesn’t have the skill or heart to win a Cup.
Barzel and Dobson should get on the phone with Adam Oates to set up Summer Training, and spend every other waking moment in the weight room. These guys are the main cogs and they have completely been a failure as supposed Stars of the team. Nathan McKinnon, Connor McDavid you hear these great stories of burning desire to win and paying the price. I don’t see it in Dobson or Barzel, it’s entirely possible we have hitched our wagon to two above average players without the championship desires.
Love the win! Can they go on a run and squeeze into a playoff spot SURE! However what’s the plan with Nelson, Palmeri, JG, Lee. The reality is if you aren’t going to resign these guys, you need to flip them by the trade deadline. Palmeri and Nelson are on expiring and JG and Lee one year left. The Speciality Teams are historically bad, that is not going to magically change unless the personnel does. Is the team a disaster without a strong core No it’s not. A retool is absolutely essential to build a Cup Contender. Look if you refuse to trade these guys unless you are blown away okay. I do think teams will be desperate for Brock and JG. All these guys are great guys but they are all above 32 33. Do you offer Palmeri a contract at 33, his health has already been an issue. Or do you retain and get a 2nd or 1st if he gets red hot. He is a playoff performer 100%. Lee is so interesting because of the way he is playing i believe you can actually move him for something. The salary relief on this group along with the assets return is a complete no brainer. We take a look at Foudy Jefferies and anyone else from Bridgeport was replacements for these guys. If we miss the playoffs so be it, get ourselves into the lottery. Love getting into the playoffs but the price is too high for a Gentleman’s Sweep. To think you could win multiple series against good teams with this team is a fantasy. Let’s stop living in the past and accept the reality of the last three years and the performance of the speciality teams. Hope to God Lou is posturing and playing the grumpy old reluctant GM and the team playing fantastic then pull the trigger.
Engvall has no pride! Disgrace!
Everyone in Management and Coaching staff at Bridgeport should be fired. The size of that dumpster fire is huge! Disgraceful

If not we are F**k for the foreseeable future.
