You go into a Series with a punchers chance. Potentially Exponentially improving the PP and PK along with an injection of youth.
Again making the playoffs has nothing to do with Cup Contention. Lou and Patrick have to make a decision on Brock, Palmeri, JG, Lee and at the same time access everyone on this team. Are you hitching your wagon to Barzel and Dobson as Cornerstones? They have not played like real stars as of yet. Alas the Power Play Problems!!!!
I have a sneaky feeling Lou wants to stay employed and relevant more than he wants to win a Cup. Therefore he most likely does nothing to move us forward again at Trade Deadline unless we collapse. If we do make the playoffs you option guys(Fashing Engvall) to Bridgeport and sign Danny Nelson and Cole Eiserman to contracts and stick them in the line up and pray to God they can supply some magic. Danny is exactly what you look for in a PK player plus big and physical. Eiserman can single handedly lift a Power Play. Hopefully they are itching to get into the NHL. Because without the infusion of a skilled PP player and a PK type they are a non factor in the playoffs. The kids have to come in and save Lou’s bacon, he has to completely go against the grain and his track record. Is he a gambler or just a guy playing it safe. Danny Nelson is a complete player and ready. Eiserman is a pure shooter that can get his own shot off, and is a little selfish which we actually are desperate for. Lightening in a bottle worth it 100%. People can cry he might not be ready, but the kid is super cocky and confident roll the dice. Without an infusion in that room of those two guys you accomplish nothing but another Gentleman’s Sweep at the hands of the Canes or Florida. What damage is going to be done by throwing those two kids in the lineup None!
