The Islanders Are Going Nowhere Fast
The New York Islanders lost their second straight game on home ice after falling 5-3 to the Philadelphia Flyers. Stefen Rosner & David Kolb break down the loss.
The New York Islanders had an opportunity to bounce back following a disappointing 2-0 shutout loss to the Ottawa Senators on Thursday when they hosted the Philadelphia Flyers.
Instead, it was yet another game where the Islanders weren’t the hungrier team, falling 5-3.
Stefen Rosner and David Kolb discuss what went wrong and what another deflating loss means for a team rapidly falling out of the playoff conversation.
Islanders Patrick Roy Not Satisfied With Hunger Level Again After Second Straight Loss At Home
ELMONT, N.Y. -- Following the New York Islanders' 2-0 shutout loss to the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday, head coach Patrick Roy was asked about the hunger level of his team.
"The position we were in, winning three in a row, we had a chance to go for four in a row. I think we should have been more hungry," Roy said. "We should have had more urgency than what we did. Sometimes, you have to dig those ones, and for some reason, we did not."
On Thursday night, the Islanders fell yet again, losing 5-3 to the Philadelphia Flyers, where hunger and urgency were an issue yet again.

Hopefully they examined all angles!!!! Flyer going to the net without a care in the world?????? Dude it’s the NHL people are back checking hard did you think you were going to get a pass to score.
NHL player safety is an oxymoron. Tsyplakov hits a guy clean with the main point of contact the opponent chest and shoulder. Impact of hit lowers head of opponent. Video reviewed and Refs call NO Penalty! Those idiots don’t like Russian players and are tight with Torts. Embarrassing! Is the goal to eliminate hard hits. If it is I got no interest in the Game.
