Cole Eiserman's Overtime Magic Sends Boston University To Hockey East Semifinals
Cole Eiserman called game.
New York Islanders prospect Cole Eiserman can’t be stopped.
The Boston University rookie, who the Islanders selected 20th overall at the 2024 NHL Draft, has had a magical first collegiate season.
And on Saturday night, he came through in a massive way for his team, scoring the game-winning goal in overtime to beat UMass 3-2:
The 18-year-old has 21 goals with 10 assists for 31 points in 34 games this season.
He’s the fourth freshman in school-history since 1990 with a 20-plus goal freshman season. Eiserman joins the likes of Jack Eichel, Clayton Keller, and Macklin Celebrini. They are all great players in the NHL.
Eiserman has two hat tricks this season, including the most recent one last week against Providence College. He won gold at the world junior championship for team USA in January.
Eiserman is likely to return to BU for his sophomore season as he continues his development under former NHLer Jay Pandolfo.

The kid is capable of playing in the NHL next year. Danny Nelson is another ready to play. Richie is ready to play. Go with these young guys, even if they take a little time to round out. Plenty of veteran presence on this team. As fans we are tired of seeing dudes that are marginal NHL players, with zero upside. Mitch Marner is not staying in Toronto, if he has a shred of self respect. If the Islanders can land him that would be a major win. Marner on the RW of Horvat should help. Wouldn’t mind see Eiserman on the LW.
This kid puts a lot of effort in the weight room. He is planning on making the Islanders out of training camp.
