Jakub Skarek To Make NHL Debut, Islanders Visit Panthers: Lines & Notes
The Islanders will be without Mathew Barzal and Scott Mayfield.
SUNRISE, FL —After winning the first game of their back-to-back in the Sunshine State, the New York Islanders (24-20-7) head south to face the Stanley Cup Champion Florida Panthers (31-19-3).

A pair of the Islanders’ new defensemen lit the lamp in Tampa, as Adam Boqvist and Tony DeAngelo lit the lamp, with the latter’s red light being the overtime winner. Boqvist will return to Sunrise after being placed on waivers by the Panthers on Thursday.
Kyle Palmieri has the most career goals among active Islanders against the Panthers, boasting nine in 24 career matchups; he also lit the lamp in their last meeting. Barzal and Bo Horvat are tied for the lead in assists against Florida with eight, while Jean-Gabriel Pageau leads in total points with 15.

Hard to mask the play without a goalie standing on his head, which we just take for granted. Not all on him just too loose Defensively, Forwards and Defenseman. Panthers dominated the small defenseman along the boards. Considering everything a split on Florida trip is okay. These next three are tough games, against very good teams. Gotta find a way to scrap out two wins. Going down to your fourth Goalie, and picking up an entire Right side of the defense in last ten days is not a formula for success. Add Barzel to that it’s understandable, especially on a back to back. Hope they get everyone back quickly, it’s going to be much harder to make the playoffs this year than the previous two. Just a mess of teams. Lou and Patrick have to ring up wins on the trade front, while shedding salary. I think that is their focus. The Cup is 100% up for grabs this year, which makes the Islander’s position in the trade market excellent. One thing we have is proven playoff performers. Nelson JG especially valuable. Palmeri Lee have a market. Moving Pulock for a haul might make sense. Winnipeg needs a Pulock badly. They have some talented young forwards. Yager and Lambert would be a good return for Pulock. Nelson would bring you back an excellent prospect ie Trevor Connelly from Knights plus ( No shortage of packages for Nelson) JG would also bring you back a nice prospect. We also can retain a little if needed, only increasing our return. If I had to call it I think the trade route is the correct way to go, regardless of winning. This team’s ceiling is a Gentleman’s Sweep against a quality opponent. This winning is important for us, especially when Lou can act reluctant to squeeze more value out of trade partners. It’s going to be a feeding frenzy with so many teams feeling they can win. Funny we thought the value would decrease on this group of players, but it has actually peaked. Time to cash in the chips Lou. Don’t hang around the craps table too long!
Drafting high is another plus of trading. It’s time!
Knight can be had in the third period. 4-3 gotta like going into third period only down one.
